The Silly Summer Parade and Picnic is a zany and silly family celebration. The parade winds through Old Strathcona along Whyte Avenue and concludes with a picnic at Queen Alexandra School (78 Avenue & 106 Street). The Silly Summer Parade and Picnic is presented by the Old Strathcona Foundation.

Yes, two blocks of Whyte Avenue are closed to traffic! Merchants bring their merchandise right out onto the road. This event also features live entertainment. Whyte Avenue is closed to vehicle traffic from 103 St. to 105 St.

It's the 6th anniversary of Edmonton Chante and the festival is getting a totally new look that will surely please music lover's! Now a fall event, Edmonton Chante will be held from September 26th to October 3rd, 2008. The Old Strathcona Heritage District will host this wonderful week long festival. Many of the acts are free. Diversity is the center of this unique event which introduces people to new Francophone Artists in great musical venues at little or no cost.
