Anytime Fitness Plans Grand Opening in Old Strathcona

Thursday October 08 , 2015

The world’s largest 24-hour gym franchise is coming to Old Strathcona.

With over 2,000 locations in North America and nearly 3,000 worldwide, it is no surprise magazines like Fortune and Entrepreneur are deeming Anytime Fitness the world’s fastest growing fitness franchise. In fact, there are already four locations in the Edmonton area, three of which opened up in the last two months.

What makes Anytime Fitness so unique? General Manager of Kingsway and Strathcona locations Matthew Toth says, “Being that our gyms are a bit smaller compared to the ‘big box’ gyms, it is a more personal experience. Our members love that when they come into our gym, we know them all by name and that they aren't just a number to us.”

Besides a range of weight training and cardio equipment, the gym offers an array of other features such as personal training, yoga, spin, or Zumba. Group classes are included in the membership and all members receive a complimentary personal training session when they first sign up. Another bonus? “When you have a membership with Anytime Fitness, it is good for every location around the world and there are no limitations,” says Toth.

New members that sign up before the opening can have the $99 enrollment fee waived and receive $10 off of monthly membership fees for a year. Readers of the Old Strathcona blog can enter to win a one-year membership simply by sharing this article on Facebook and tagging ‘Anytime Fitness Old Strathcona.’

The grand opening is scheduled for the end of the month. The celebration will take place on location with food, live music, grand prize draws, and much more. For more information on pre-sales and opening dates please visit
