Spring Fashion Trends
Sunday April 17 , 2016
From Paris, New York, London to WCFW, Spring “16 runways have all brought forward some amazing inspirations. As you’re shopping Whyte Avenue in Old Strathcona this season, here are some key trends to keep an eye out for. Mixing in any of the elements below, will kick your outfit up a notch, and have people watching out for your trend setting looks.
Shoulders have made a big statement in fashion, from shoulder pads to off the shoulder looks. This season designers have taken this to a whole new level with cut out shoulders, meant to highlight the neckline and add a playful flare to your look.
Stripes are a staple this spring, and they are coming in every colour, direction and occasion we could hope for.
Lingerie du jour
Designers have let us know that lingerie is not just meant for afterhours anymore. And they may have given us the easiest way to slip into spring, by giving us the green light to toss a slip over a tee and jean combo….and voila. This season, it’s all about taking your outfit from night to day; these silky pieces are made to be seen.
Although we are all looking forward to Queen B hitting our city this May, for now, it’s hats off to Queen Victoria and the era she ruled. Thanks to designers, ruffle sleeves, high necklines and to die for details have returned, with a modern twist of course, including eye catching fabrics and short hemlines.
